Episcopal Cribz: The Purple Room

Have you ever been walking on strip and noticed the purple light streaming out of a window on Evans? Well that is Bea Campagna and Mary Preston Singletary’s room. Their room is unique, creative, and cozy, and Bea said that they clean their room at least once a day in order to keep it tidy. Mary Preston has a luminous pink lightning bolt above her bed which causes the purple light that can be seen from strip, and the walls are covered with funny posters and colorful tapestries. Alongside Bea’s bed there is a large tapestry that covers the whole wall, and resembles a famous Vogue magazine cover from 2003, purchased from society6. Mary Preston recently bought vintage records from a bookstore in Jacksonville, Florida, her hometown, and decided to display them above her desk. These records include artists such as Jimmy Buffet, Steely Dan, David Allan Coe, and Jefferson Starship. Mary Preston and Bea also have several photos from their freshman year and summer vacation that cover the wall above their couch, and matching orange and pink bedding from Roberta Roller Rabbit. One of Mary Preston’s favorite decorations are her mini posters beside her bed from Redbubble, and their white curtains and decorative pillows from Target. These roommates worked hard to make their room feel like home, and it is definitely worth seeing.
